This Erasmus+ project aimed to empower young people and youth workers across Europe and partner countries by focusing on three core themes: participation in democratic life, environmental sustainability, and digital skills. Aligned with key EU Youth Goals, the project provided a platform for participants from Portugal, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Ukraine to gain skills and knowledge essential for fostering democratic, inclusive, and sustainable communities. With two youth enchanges and a mobility for youth workers. Objectives: 1. Participation in democratic life: The project promoted active citizenship, helping participants understand democratic processes and empowering them as change agents in their communities. 2. Promote Sustainable Practices: Addressing environmental responsibility, the project introduced sustainable practices that participants could implement to reduce ecological footprints, fostering local environmental advocacy. 3. Enhance Digital Skills: Aiming to boost digital literacy, the project equipped participants with skills to responsibly use digital tools for community impact, supporting the EU’s emphasis on digital transformation. The project consisted of three activities—EcoCitizenship, YouthEngage, and DigiYouth Connect—each focusing on one of the themes: • EcoCitizenship engaged participants in environmental sustainability within democratic contexts. • YouthEngage encouraged understanding of EU Youth Goals, inclusivity, and social justice. • DigiYouth Connect concentrated on using digital tools for civic engagement and inclusion. Each youth exchange involved thirty five participants during seven days ativities in Viseu, Portugal. Additionally, the Mobility for Youth Workers (DigiYouth Connect) program trained six youth workers in project management, digital facilitation, and intercultural skills, empowering them to support young participants and promote sustainable project outcomes. Youth Exchanges: • EcoCitizenship (16-22 September 2023): This exchange focused on sustainable practices and democratic participation, bringing together 35 participants from Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Ukraine. Participants engaged in workshops and community activities to learn practical ecological practices and discuss democratic engagement, with a focus on how sustainable actions contribute to civic life. • YouthEngage (13-19 July 2024): Aimed at inspiring civic involvement and understanding EU Youth Goals, this exchange gathered 35 participants from Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. Participants explored inclusivity, social justice, and democratic processes through interactive sessions, role-plays, and debates, allowing them to better understand their role in fostering a just and inclusive society. Mobility for Youth Workers: • DigiYouth Connect (9-15 September 2023) Participants from Portugal and Turkey for a week of professional development focused on the EU Youth Goals and the use of digital technologies. The program was designed to empower professionals and young leaders, promoting digital skills and inclusive practices to positively impact their communities. Participants are expected to apply their new skills within their communities, fostering active citizenship, ecological responsibility, and digital inclusion. This project established a network of engaged young leaders prepared to contribute to cohesive and inclusive societies across Europe. By instilling these values, the project contributes to a more democratic, sustainable, and digitally connected future, supporting Erasmus+ goals of fostering inclusive and impactful youth engagement. In summary, this project provided transformative experiences, equipping participants to lead community initiatives and reinforcing European values of civic responsibility, sustainability, and digital readiness. The impact of this Erasmus+ initiative extends beyond the immediate project, creating long-term benefits for participants and their communities.
