Since 2010’s wildfire news are getting “normal” in summer as a result of rising temperatures and climate change. There are mainly 2 reasons of them: higher temperatures (as a result of climate change) and human-made factors. Technically, it can be said that both of the reasons are human-induced. So, we think that solutions should be human-related, too. Especially in Australia, the USA and European countries (specifically Mediterranean countries like Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey) millions of trees are burnt besides animals in hundred thousands of acres after the forest fires. This is a great strike to natural life and green future for humanity. We’re already coping with and we’ll cope with more the negative effects of climate change in future; so the damaging effects of these wildfires will make it heavier getting through of climate change. In addition to these, governments budget millions of euro for taking precautions against the fires, extinguishing during the fires and reforesting and regenerating natural life after the fires. These supplies could have been used for developing health researches, protecting and enriching natural habitats and floras, diminishing the famine in the world and so on. The consequences of wildfires are eventually a dying natural life and economic burden for governments. That’s why we want to carry on this project by enlightening the youth about wildfires, precautions before them, practices during them and after them. Of course, our exchange project won’t be an education seminar to educate the participants about wildfires; rather, an exchange to remind them the importance of nature, the essence of wild life for the world, paying attention to how to behave in order not to cause to a forest fire and how to behave during and after a fire in nature. Also, we aim the target groups in the area to get known some safety rules during natural disasters and human-made threats, as well as increasing the activity of young people during attempts to solve local social problems. Briefly, we can summarize the project goals as: -Educating young people about safety procedures that should be followed during and after wildfires and threats resulting from human mistakes (e.g. cigarette butts, picnic fires, electricity accidents in high-voltage lines etc.), as well as coping with their effects; -Strengthening the position of young people and encouraging active participation in social life and solving problems of their local communities; -Preparing a place for creative work in an international environment; -Drawing the attention of the youth to the threats of both natural disasters and human mistakes, as well as the need for education in this area and the importance of active participation in civic life; -Impacting on local authorities through recommendations regarding actions to solve wildfire problems; -Expanding the network of contacts and strengthening cooperation between partner organizations of the project by exchange of good practices; -Increasing the importance of non-governmental organizations in local communities.
