The idea of the project was formed following the participation in the “Inspirational Study Visit - Services for youth in NEET situation in Finland”, that gave participants an overview of different services for NEETs (young people not in employment, education, or training), including services of municipal youth work and different NGOs in Finland. Lisbon City Foundation (FCL), as well as other participant organisations in the Study Visit, work daily with youngsters in NEET, and identify the need to train the youth workers with specific tools and methods to work with young people, especially in NEET situations. All the organisations involved (associations, foundations, NGOs, municipalities, vocational training schools and collectives) have in common the work with youth in NEET situations or/and training and support to professionals dealing with this topic, and struggle to give adequate support and quality services, for several reasons, including time to invest on new learning opportunities and updated skills development. This project allows the participants to learn by doing, experiencing the tools and methods in a practical way through the workshops organised by all the participants and countries involved. It also allows the participants to be protagonists of their learning process, sharing their know-how and practical experiences, promoting peer learning. TOOLS FOR YOU*! consists of an immersive training course of 8 days, where participants share specific tools and methods to work with youth in NEET situation, preparing workshops to implement during the training. Our main goal is to improve the organisations' responses for youth in NEET situation in Europe, through the development and acquisition of youth workers' competences, from a peer-learning perspective, thus contributing to the European Inclusion & Diversity Strategy. The specific goals are: - to improve the quality of work of the youth workers with NEET, through learning new tools and competences acquiring/development. - to learn and create specific tools and resources aimed at working with youth in NEET. - to enhance the resilience and mental health of youth workers working with youth in NEET. - to promote networking and sharing experiences, contexts and realities between participating organisations and youth workers. In the European Year of Skills 2023 frame, this project contributes to improve the skills of youth workers, youth organisations, and youth in NEET situation. Also, this project wishes to enhance the resilience and mental health of youth workers working with youth in NEET, also by sharing/learning specific tools and getting inspired from experts on this topic. The objectives of Youth Workers Mobility are addressed by the project in its core: - Provide non-formal and informal learning opportunities for educational and professional development of youth workers, contributing to high quality individual practice as well as to the evolution of youth work organisations and systems - our training course of 8 days contributes to this objective in a direct way. - Build a community of youth workers that can support the quality of projects and activities for young people in EU programmes and beyond - our project, based on the partnership formed between all the organisations creating a network for youth in NEET, answers this objective directly. - Develop local youth work practices and contribute to capacity building for quality youth work of the participants and their organisations, having a clear impact on the participating youth workers' regular work with young people - the programme of the training, with its practical workshops organised from each country, have impact on the daily practices of youth workers and its organisations, contributing directly to this objective reinforced by the intellectual output produced - Booklet - facilitating a multiplying effect. This project concurs to the European Inclusion & Diversity Strategy, is developed under the inspiration of the European Year of Skills and wishes also to contribute to reach the EU 2030 social targets and the 2030 Digital Compass, including in the program specific methods, tools, good practices and experts contribution. The project is also aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the SDG number 4 “Quality Education”, the SDG number 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, SDG number 10 “Reduced Inequalities” and SDG number 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, walking towards the horizon 2030. Regarding the European Youth Goals (EU Youth Strategy), the project concurs to all of them in transversal way, but more specifically to the EYG number 3 “Inclusive Societies”, EYG number 6 “Moving Rural Youth Forward” - since the NEET situation has more impact in rural areas due to lack of opportunities, EYG number 5 “Mental Health and Wellbeing”, and finally to the EYG number 7 and 8 “Quality Employment for All” and “Quality Learning”.
