Objectives

In line with the commitments undertaken through the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027 and with the institutional internationalization strategy, the “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu implemented this project with the aim of strengthening the European dimension of military education and training, by increasing academic mobility and developing essential skills for the global labor market. The main objective of the project was to increase the quality of the educational process by expanding international mobility opportunities for students, teaching staff and administrative staff, facilitating the exchange of good practices and the integration of international experiences into the curriculum. Taking into account the priorities of the Erasmus+ Program, we aimed to: increase the number of successfully completed international mobilities; diversify academic partnerships, both in profile and geographical distribution; encourage the active participation of students in a multicultural environment, supporting the development of linguistic, digital and intercultural skills; promote inclusion and equal opportunities in accessing mobilities; to integrate the principles of green and digital transition into the project management. Through the mobilities carried out, we aimed at the professional development of the participants, the stimulation of critical thinking and adaptability to diverse contexts, as well as the creation of an academic community open and receptive to change. Specifically, the project aimed to: increase the attractiveness of our study programs for Romanian and international students; adapt teaching and assessment methods to European standards; strengthen international relations by signing new academic cooperation agreements. The project was implemented according to plan, reaching and exceeding the assumed indicators. All the foreseen mobilities were carried out in compliance with Erasmus+ standards and with the efficient use of the allocated budget. The implementation of the project fully respected the Erasmus Charter, with clear and transparent processes, namely: transparent selection, detailed information, linguistic and intercultural training, monitoring during the mobility, personalized support for inclusion; full recognition of the results obtained, digitalization of the process through Erasmus Without Paper; compliance with horizontal priorities: - Inclusion and diversity – additional support for participants with limited resources or special needs; - Green transition – promotion of sustainable transport and incentives for “green travel”; - Digital transition – use of online platforms, digitalization of processes, training in digital skills; - Civic participation and common values – involvement in intercultural and community activities; - Strengthened international dimension – diversification of destinations and attraction of new partners. All financial resources were managed transparently and responsibly. The redistribution of funds between types of mobilities was carried out in such a way as to maximize the number of participants and the impact of the project, respecting national and European procedures and regulations. Therefore, this project directly contributed to achieving the strategic objectives of the institution, in particular to the internationalization of study programs, modernization of educational processes and integration of transversal skills in the training of military personnel and defense specialists. It also created the premises for closer collaboration between academia, the military sector and the international labor market, ensuring the relevance of the training of our graduates in a competitive global environment.
