The first year of our Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation project aimed to strengthen the capacity of our organization and partners to address pressing social and global challenges, while enhancing the quality, innovation, and impact of youth work in our communities. Our main motivation for implementing projects under the Accreditation framework is to foster sustainable social change, empower young people as active global citizens, and equip youth workers with practical skills and tools to engage youth in meaningful, transformative learning experiences. Through this approach, we contribute to social cohesion, sustainable development, and the active implementation of Agenda 2030 at local and European levels. The specific objectives of our Accreditation are: 1- To develop practical competencies of youth workers to address social issues, empower young people to overcome life challenges, and increase their social responsibility. 2- To strengthen the capacity of the youth sector to support the implementation of Agenda 2030, by promoting active global citizenship and engaging young people in sustainability and climate action. 3- To build the capacity of youth work professionals and organizations to create systemic change and influence decision-making processes in the youth field at local, national, and European levels. During the first year of our accreditation, we implemented five mobilities (four training courses and one partnership-building activity), each carefully designed to meet these objectives: Mobility 1 – “Be Sustainable” supported Objective 2 directly, while also contributing to Objective 1. It aimed to equip youth workers with tools and knowledge to promote sustainable habits, green practices in youth work, and incorporate the principles of Agenda 2030 into their daily activities and community projects. Mobility 2 – “Design Thinking for Local Advocacy” supported Objective 3 primarily. It focused on developing youth workers’ advocacy and problem-solving skills, enabling them to engage with local decision-makers, co-create solutions with young people, and drive systemic change in their communities. Mobility 3 – “Escape Climate Change” supported Objectives 1 and 2. It aimed to build youth workers’ capacity to raise awareness about climate change using innovative non-formal tools, particularly educational escape rooms, and to empower youth as active global citizens. Mobility 4 – “Let’s Talk (More) About Gender, Baby” supported Objectives 1 and 3. It focused on equipping youth workers with competencies to address gender-based discrimination, create safer and more inclusive environments, and support vulnerable groups, contributing to stronger social responsibility in youth work. Mobility 5 – “Power Projects (PBA)”, transversally supported all three objectives. It strengthened the international network of youth organizations, enabling the exchange of best practices in social and global responsibility and creating a foundation for future joint initiatives under Erasmus+ and beyond. Through these mobilities, we achieved the following: - Increased professional competencies of youth workers to address social and global challenges through innovative, non-formal educational methods. - Strengthened the capacity of youth organizations to deliver impactful, high-quality youth work aligned with the goals of Agenda 2030. - Created a stronger European network of organizations committed to social change, sustainability, and global responsibility, laying the groundwork for long-term systemic impact.
