Objectives

By implementing the Green Screen project, our aim was to use non-formal education to equip young individuals with the knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to become active citizens within their communities, being actors toward environmental issues. We wanted to use an attractive way to push young people to create environmental awareness and show them that with little means you can create impactful results. As a practical exercise during the project, we decided to use cinema, more specifically short movies as a way to express the voice and point of views form youth on this topic. Through this project we want to achieve the following points: First of all, we wanted to foster a deepened sense of active citizenship and environmental stewardship. We aimed to provide a robust sense of responsibility and initiative among the participants, encouraging them to engage actively in addressing environmental challenges and contributing positively to their local communities. Through this project, we envisioned young individuals who are aware of the issues facing our planet and equipped and motivated to take concrete actions towards sustainable solutions. An important aspect of the project was enhancing the digital literacy and creative expression of the participants. In today's digital world, effective communication and storytelling skills are valuable. Through the project, we wanted to empower participants with the digital competencies necessary for creative expression and advocacy. By focusing on movie making, we aimed to provide a compelling medium through which young people could voice their concerns, share their visions for a sustainable future, and influence their peers and broader audiences. In the context of youth mobility, promoting cultural exchange, inclusion and diversity is an excellent setting. We aimed to bring together young people from different cultural backgrounds, facilitating an exchange of ideas, sharing cultural practices, and values that would enhance their open mindedness. We had the desire to build organisational capacity for delivering impactful youth programs. The project was designed to strengthen the partner organisations' ability to conduct non-formal education programs effectively. By developing, implementing, and evaluating this project, we aimed to refine our methodologies, expand our networks, share best practices and enhance our competencies in organising youth exchanges and other educational initiatives for young people. The implementation of the Green Screen project was driven by a set of clearly defined objectives, reflecting our commitment to fostering active citizenship, environmental awareness, and digital literacy among youth, as well as enhancing cross-border collaboration among partner organisations. These objectives, crafted to address both the personal and professional development of participants and the organisational capacity for delivering impactful non-formal education programs. The Green Screen project objectives are: OBJ1: Stimulating active citizenship and environmental awareness among 24 young people to take action in their community from Romania, Croatia and France over a period of 8 months. OBJ2: Develop digital skills related to movie making among 24 young people from Romania, Croatia and France over a period of 8 months OBJ3: Enabling cross-border collaboration and consolidating staff capacity among 3 partner organisations to conduct non-formal education programs while promoting European project mobilities in international frameworks for a period of 8 months This main objective leads to 2 sub-objectives: 1: To create and facilitate a non-formal learning framework for achieving competencies, and attitudes and stimulate awareness among 24 young people from Romania, Croatia, and France for a period of 8 months. 2: Empowering 24 youths from 3 cultural backgrounds to grow their personal and professional skills for a period of 7 days.
