During „Green Me” project we aimed to teach young people long-lasting skills and useful habits that can produce a real change in their community through a long period. During the project we addressed several needs that we identified together with our project partners, such as: - the need to take initiative to protect the environment in a team with similar values; - the need to learn more about the impact of everyday human activities on nature; - the need to connect with nature; - the need to raise awareness of the importance of protecting nature; - the need to learn ways to raise awareness on the subject; - the need to integrate environmental habits into our own lives; - the need to learn ways to motivate others to be environmentally friendly; - the need to understand the different ways and means by which we can make a difference in the community in this respect. Our main objective of the project was to help young people discover ways in which they can become more connected with nature and learn to protect it. The achieved goals were: 1.To involve the 24 young people who participated at the project and to develop their knowledge about ecology, nature and sustainability. 2. To teach the project participants through practice how to promote and implement local campaigns that protect nature and will include ecological habits in their daily routine. 3. To help the project participants to develop a more proactive attitude and will be more motivated to protect nature and raise ecological awareness in their communities. At the same time we always prioritised during the project the Erasmus+ Quality Standards that ensure quality experience and learning outcomes for Erasmus participants. During „Green Me” project we contributed to the overall objectives of the EU Youth Strategy and to the European Youth Goals developed within this frame. We applied few specific principles in order to achieve our project objectives: - We respected the principle of inclusion and diversity in all aspects of our activities. We selected participants with very different backgrounds, with diverse abilities and we engaged and involved participants with fewer opportunities. - We made efforts to design our activities in an environmentally friendly way and we also promoted environmentally sustainable and responsible behaviour among all our participants. - We used virtual cooperation techniques and complemented the physical mobility activities to improve the cooperation with partner organisations. - Our organisation members prove active participation in the network of Erasmus organisations by taking part in activities organised by the National Agency or other organisations. We connected to several experienced Erasmus beneficiaries who shared their knowledge with us, providing our colleagues advice, mentorship or other support.
