We aimed to achieve several key objectives: Developing teachers' skills through innovative teaching strategies - We aimed to support teachers in overcoming traditional methods of teaching foreign languages, by integrating language learning into the teaching of content subjects, so that the educational process becomes more meaningful and dynamic. Improving students' language skills through real-life contexts - My goal was for students to acquire language skills not only within foreign language classes, but also while learning subjects such as science, mathematics or history, thus developing vocabulary, comprehension and fluency in a natural and engaging way. Increasing student motivation and active involvement – By applying CLIL strategies, we wanted to make lessons more interactive and relevant, which would lead to increased student interest and greater willingness to use the target language in real-world contexts. Promoting multilingual and multicultural competences – We aimed to support the European Union’s vision of promoting bilingualism and multilingualism by integrating the use of foreign languages in all curricular areas. Creating a collaborative learning environment Developing a model of good practice
We applied for this project because we recognized the growing need to integrate language learning with disciplinary content in a way that is both engaging and effective for students. The CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method, developed by Marsh and Maljers, provides a valuable framework for achieving this integration. In actual educational context, we have observed that students often lose motivation to learn foreign languages when they are taught in isolation and have difficulty making meaningful connections between language use and real-life content. The main needs that I aimed to address through this project were: -The need for innovative teaching strategies that improve both language acquisition and understanding of subject content. -The need to increase student motivation by contextualizing language learning and its relevance. - The need to train teachers in CLIL methodology to extend our teaching practices beyond traditional language lessons. - The need to promote multilingualism, in line with the objectives of the European Union, by integrating the use of foreign languages in various curricular areas.
