Through this project we aimed to improve the social integration, resilience, and well-being of 5,000 young people with Autism Spectrum Disorders by providing them with innovative opportunities to express themselves through creativity and art therapy. At the same time, we wanted to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and intervention capacity of 3,500 trainers, art instructors, and support staff by offering them practical tools and a comprehensive training package. By combining an art-based assessment tool, a creativity and art therapy course, and a virtual storytelling exhibition, the project sought to promote inclusion, empower young people with ASD, and build sustainable resources for professionals working in this field. According to the project’s dissemination table, the information and project results reached 78.790 young people with ASD and 59.597 trainers and practitioners through various dissemination channels and activities. We shared the results to all the people that we thought that need to know how to improve there work with people with ASD, a subject that needs to be increasingly developed.
We applied for this project to address two main needs: the lack of creative and inclusive tools for young people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) to express themselves and improve their social integration, and the limited training opportunities for trainers and support staff working with them. Our project developed innovative resources such as an art-based assessment tool, a training package for professionals, a creativity and art therapy course for young people, and a virtual storytelling art exhibition. Through these activities, the project contributed to improving the resilience, personal development, and well-being of 78.790 young people with ASD, and to upgrading the knowledge and skills of 59.597 trainers and practitioners across partner countries.
