Objectives

The project was developed with the overarching objective of improving the employability and social inclusion of Roma youth through the acquisition of digital and creative skills. The consortium sought to design and implement a concrete pathway enabling Roma young people particularly women and those with limited formal education to access quality training and employment opportunities within the growing digital economy.By offering a structured programme in digital content creation and marketing, the project aimed to equip participants with practical competences directly relevant to the labour market.A key objective was to strengthen the link between education and employment through mentorship, internships, and collaboration with private companies. The project also pursued gender equality by offering flexible learning formats adapted to the specific needs of Roma women.Beyond skills development, it intended to challenge discriminatory perceptions and promote a positive image of Roma communities by highlighting their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. In doing so, the project contributed to the implementation of the EU Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda, while setting a model for inclusive digital education

Background

The consortium applied for this project in response to the persistent digital and employment gap affecting Roma youth across Europe, with a particular focus on women. Partners identified that Roma young people remain among the most excluded from education and the labour market, with 63% of Roma aged 16–24 classified as NEET compared to an EU average of 12%. The COVID-19 pandemic further deepened these inequalities by accelerating digitalisation while leaving many vulnerable groups behind. The project was therefore conceived as a practical and inclusive response to these challenges. It provides accessible, high-quality training in digital content creation and marketing through a video-based curriculum designed for low-educated learners. The project’s objectives include enhancing employability, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting gender equality by equipping Roma youth with the competences needed for entry-level digital professions. Through mentoring, internships, and collaboration with industry partners, the project creates concrete links between training and the labour market. It also supports the EU Digital Education Action Plan by promoting Roma inclusion, digital participation, and equal opportunities.
