Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen the international dimension of our institution by supporting both students and staff in developing their academic, professional, and intercultural skills through meaningful mobility experiences. Our primary objectives were to increase the employability of students, modernize teaching practices, encourage innovation, and ensure equal access to international opportunities for all participants, including those facing social or economic challenges. One of the key activities was the participation of our teaching staff in intensive blended programs abroad. For example, Assistant Professor Milica Mladenović from the Faculty of Management participated in the Blended Intensive Program hosted by Algebra University in Zagreb, Croatia in January 2025. She delivered workshops on brainstorming, pitch presentations, teamwork and discussion, and mentoring students during mobility. Through this program, she gained knowledge of modern teaching methods, improved communication skills, and enhanced her creative potential, critical thinking, and marketing competencies. The participation also opened the door for potential joint projects and research collaboration with partner institutions. During this program, five of our students also took part, which further strengthened the integration of teaching, mentoring, and student learning in an international setting. Earlier, in October 2024, another group of five of our students participated in the Blended Intensive Program “MediaXperience Autumn School: Beyond Realities of VR, AR, and MR,” hosted by our partner Academia in Maribor. The course was designed around real-life problem solving, intercultural collaboration, and mentoring by industry professionals. Students worked in groups on authentic challenges faced by a local company and a non-governmental organization, developing practical solutions that combined academic learning with real-world application. The program included lectures on narrative creation for AR/XR/MR, 3D animation, pitching and public speaking, and color theory for media production. Students also completed a LinkedIn Learning online module prior to the in-person component, earning three European Credit Transfer System credits in recognition of their work. This program not only enhanced their technical and creative skills but also fostered intercultural teamwork and international networking. In addition to short-term blended programs, the project supported several long-term student internships abroad. In 2024, one student completed a two-month traineeship in Valencia, Spain, at the company Erasmus Life Valencia. She was responsible for managing sales and payments, developing business-to-business relationships, and building profiles of key contacts. Another student undertook a nearly three-month internship in Italy at the company Extramus, where she worked as a front-end developer in the information technology department, gaining both technical and workplace experience. In 2025, two more students participated in internships. One student spent three months in Barcelona, Spain, at the Murkhasya Art Gallery and Studio, where he assisted with visual merchandising, visitor engagement, and general studio activities in the field of visual arts. Another student spent three months in Lisbon, Portugal, working at the B-OM Sustainability Institute. This internship offered hands-on experience in sustainable land management and ecological restoration. Activities included soil regeneration techniques, water management systems, companion planting, agroforestry, and biodiversity enhancement. The internship combined practical skills such as composting, seed saving, and permaculture design with theoretical knowledge in ecological systems and sustainability. These activities together demonstrate the broader goals of our project: to provide students and staff with opportunities for personal and professional growth, to expose them to international and intercultural environments, to promote modern teaching and learning methods, and to establish sustainable partnerships with institutions across Europe. By combining short-term intensive courses with long-term traineeships, the project contributed to increasing employability, innovation, and inclusion. It also ensured that our institution is better prepared for future cooperation in research, education, and international development. Through this project, we aimed to build a more inclusive, innovative, and internationally connected institution, equipping both students and staff with the skills, experiences, and networks they need to succeed in a rapidly changing European and global environment.
