Objectives

This project had a goal of broaching important topics in the field of youth work. Our project aimed to create a comprehensive approach to youth development, emphasizing both cultural and emotional dimensions, and leveraging the strengths of both young participants and experienced youth workers. Moreover, we strived to elevate the quality of youth work by focusing on emotional intelligence, intercultural communication, and effective support strategies. These ideas were broadly applied in the project. First, we aimed to connect youth with their own culture, as we found cultural heritage vital to identity formation. We believed that sharing their cultural knowledge would boost their cultural awareness, intercultural understanding, empathy, and open-mindedness. This project was designed to foster a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures among young people and youth workers. Additionally, we focused on increasing the emotional capacity of youth workers, essential for their roles. By equipping them with skills to support emotional development, we targeted improved well-being among youth. Youth workers practiced emotional perception and management in youth contexts and engaged in exercises to enhance their own emotional regulation, helping them better manage stress and prevent burnout. Objectives for mobility of the young people – Youth Exchange ● Encourage young people to learn about and appreciate diverse cultures and traditions, fostering intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. ● Provide platforms for young people to express their cultural identities through creative and artistic means, encouraging collaboration and sharing of cultural heritage. ● Develop participants' intercultural communication and collaboration skills, as well as their understanding of democratic processes and the importance of active participation. ● Facilitate youth exchanges that are led by young people, empowering them to take ownership of projects and promoting leadership and peer-to-peer learning. Objectives for mobility of the youth worker – Training course ● Develop practical skills for recognizing and responding to the emotional needs of young people in different contexts ● Engage in activities which can contribute to development of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills ● Empower youth workers to effectively manage their own emotions to better support emotional life of young people ● Enhance the overall quality of youth work through a focus on emotional expression and regulation techniques ● Explore the role, intercultural aspects, power, importance and necessity of emotions and emotional expression in our lives To achieve these objectives, we implemented two main activities: Mobility of the Young People (Youth Exchange) and Mobility of the Youth Workers (Training Course). The Youth Exchange aimed to inspire appreciation for diverse cultures, promoting intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. We created platforms for young people to express cultural identities through creative outlets, enhancing skills in intercultural communication, collaboration, and democratic engagement. Key goals included fostering active participation and leadership by empowering youth to take planning roles, emphasizing peer-to-peer learning and hands-on experience. The theme of culture and tradition, championed by young volunteers, was central, and we prioritized building collaborative relationships between experienced and new partners to ensure sustainable impact. Artistic expression was woven throughout, highlighting its transformative potential. The Training Course aimed to equip youth workers with skills to recognize and address young people's emotional needs, emphasizing emotional intelligence as vital in youth work. Participants practiced self-awareness, empathy, and self-regulation, enhancing their ability to manage their emotions and better support youth. The course encouraged critical thinking by exploring attitudes, stereotypes, and cultural perspectives on emotions, deepening participants' understanding. Activities fostered a safe space for vulnerability and growth, allowing youth workers to connect and explore their emotional world. Ultimately, the course empowered them with techniques to support both their own and young people’s emotional development.
