The project aimed to deepen academic cooperation with Zanzibar University in Tanzania and Cadi Ayyad University in Morocco, focusing on capacity building, exchange of expertise, and strengthening intercultural dialogue. Our main objective was to create opportunities for staff and students to benefit from new teaching practices, diverse cultural environments, and exposure to different academic systems. By implementing the project, we wanted to support the professional development of staff through international teaching and training, while also preparing the basis for student exchanges in the future. Another important goal was to diversify our institutional partnerships beyond Europe, contributing to a more global dimension of our university’s internationalisation strategy. Overall, the project was designed to enhance the quality of higher education at all partner institutions, foster mutual trust, and lay the foundation for sustainable cooperation in teaching, research, and mobility.
