In our Erasmus Policy Statement and the Karolinska Institutet (KI) Strategy 2030, the significance of internationalisation is strongly emphasised. Broad international collaboration and exchange are vital in addressing forthcoming tasks and challenges, as we continue to learn and evolve. Such engagement is essential for tackling critical questions concerning the future of the healthcare sector and for pursuing one of our principal objectives: better health for all. Internationalisation is defined as all activities that introduce a global dimension into every facet of our university, including our classrooms and is crucial for sustaining and enhancing the quality of higher education at all levels. It equips us to navigate an increasingly dynamic world and enables us to respond more swiftly to emerging developments. Moreover, it strengthens our ability to attract and retain outstanding students and staff from across the globe. The long-term benefit and overarching aim of this project, alongside other internationalisation initiatives at KI, is to contribute meaningfully to the achievement of these strategic goals and to provide our students and staff with valuable mobility opportunities abroad. Internationalisation is a continuous process that should permeate all aspects and levels of the university. Participation in programmes such as Erasmus+ also supports the fulfilment of several objectives outlined in the Modernisation Agenda.
