Through this mobility project, Lund University (LU) aimed to strengthen its international profile and to enhance academic cooperation with partners in and outside of the EU/EES. For Lund University, one of the corner stones for internationalisation and global engagement is the mobility of students and staff, both incoming and outgoing. Through student and staff exchange, Lund University fosters intercultural learning and improves the quality of education and thus increases the attractiveness of Lund University and its innovation capacity. This mobility project contributed to Lund University reaching its ambitious goals and vision. Lund University is an international university, popular with international students and with extensive international collaborations. The university´s vision is to be a world-class university that works to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition. The Strategic Plan 2017-2026 of Lund University is the base for all its activities and internationalisation is one of the university's six prioritised areas. As a complement to the Strategic plan and Lund University’s other strategic activities, Lund University has developed the Platform for strategic work. “Democracy and global engagement” is one of the four prioritised strategic development areas of the platform.
