Objectives

Dalarna University is dedicated to advancing the objectives outlined in both its University Strategy and the Erasmus Policy Statement. A central goal is to strengthen international collaboration in education and research—both physical and virtual—for students and staff alike. To achieve this, the university will: Increase the number of incoming and outgoing international students and staff. Ensure that all academic programmes incorporate elements that foster global perspectives and intercultural understanding. Support each cohesive academic environment in establishing strategic partnerships with international universities. A key focus area is staff mobility, which plays a vital role in promoting student engagement in internationalisation. Staff who participate in mobility programmes often inspire students to pursue international experiences and bring back valuable insights that enrich both their colleagues and students. This exchange of ideas and practices cultivates a broader interest in international cooperation and mobility across the university. International mobility also contributes to the development of academic networks, enabling educators to teach or guest lecture—often virtually—at partner institutions. This strengthens the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), with the Erasmus+ programme serving as a cornerstone in achieving these ambitions. Internationalisation will remain a strategic priority for the university leadership. Dalarna University is now initiating work on a Strategic Action Plan for 2027–2030, which includes the development and implementation of a coherent internationalisation strategy.
