Objectives

Kristianstad University (HKR) strives to strengthen international mobility and create an inclusive environment that supports collaboration between students and staff. This effort contributes to greater cross-cultural understanding, respect for human rights, and the sustainable use of resources on a global scale. In line with its International Strategy, Erasmus Policy Statement (EPS), and the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, HKR is committed to enhancing the quality and attractiveness of its educational offerings. The Erasmus+ programme is highly valued at HKR, as it facilitates both student and staff mobility abroad while deepening collaboration and exchange with Erasmus+ partner institutions. Equally important is incoming mobility, which plays a key role in advancing “Internationalisation at Home” by providing international perspectives to those not engaged in outbound mobility. Since courses for incoming exchange students are primarily integrated into HKR’s regular programmes, this fosters meaningful, reciprocal experiences that directly enrich teaching and learning. The international dimension also informs educational planning and curriculum development, with participants consistently reporting increased awareness, tolerance, mutual respect, and intercultural understanding.
