The 'Edumom' project aimed to empower women on parental leave by developing their skills and enhancing their employment prospects. The key objectives were: 1.To provide 40 women on parental leave with access to training that would enhance their career development and employability. 2.To support adult educators by equipping them with innovative tools and best practices for upskilling women on parental leave. 3.To raise awareness about lifelong learning and the availability of formal and non-formal education opportunities among women on parental leave. 4.To create tangible resources, such as a dedicated website with 20 training video series, a guide on education opportunities, and a list of digital tools for skill development. 5.To foster international collaboration and knowledge exchange among partner organizations to promote gender equality and lifelong learning.
We applied for the 'Edumom' project because the project partners passionate about supporting women during pivotal moments in their lives, such as parental leave. This project resonates with the commitment to empowering individuals through education and skill development, particularly in a context that often sees women facing challenges in maintaining their careers or re-entering the workforce. The primary needs we address through this project include: Skill Development: Many women on parental leave may feel that their skills become outdated or that they lack new skills relevant to the evolving job market. By providing targeted training and resources, we can help them build confidence and competence. Flexibility in Learning: Women on parental leave often have unique time constraints. The focus was on creating flexible learning opportunities that can be accessed online or in short, manageable segments to accommodate their schedules. Through the 'Edumom' project, the project partners hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women navigating this critical phase, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive both personally and professionally.
