Background

The basis for this project is a bootcamp for early entrepreneurs with the purpose to introduce teams to all aspects of setting up a successful foodtech company, aligned with Agenda 2030. Previous SmiLe bootcamps were geared towards E-health, medical devices and biotech, but growing need from food tech entrepreneurs for specific incubation support was identified. These having a different path from idea to market due to different sets of regulations, business models etc. Smile and Genopole had interest and need to improve skills to support companies and run bootcamps in this challenging field, also not held in person, due to difficulty for the teams to be away for several weeks. The overall objective was ability to offer a new, jointly developed and run bootcamp for food-tech start-ups, for them to experience approaches to business creation and tap into European networks. The process of developing this should result in participating organisations develop knowledge and skills through collaboration and provide new support to food-tech start-ups thus contribute to creation of new businesses with breakthrough products and services for European citizens, support environmental transformation and improving digital readiness and skills.
