The main aim of the project was to help students become more active, environmentally aware and responsible members of their communities. By motivating students to take part in regular physical activity and understand why movement is important for their health. In combination to make the students more ecologically friendly by encouraging them to take real action for the environment. Promoting local businesses by setting up good examples in terms of ecology and sustainable practices. Develop students' digital skills by learning how to use IT tools and to create their own digital products, for the long-term impact. We aimed to help students feel comfortable in a multicultural environment and overcome barriers related to geography, economics and discrimination. Improving communication by encouraging students to use English more often in natural situations outside the classroom. We wanted teachers to try new methods and to integrate digital tools into their lessons, creating resources that could be reused by other schools. We aimed to strengthen cooperation with partner schools across Europe, share good practices and develop common materials that support sustainability, digital competence, inclusion and active citizenship.
We applied for this project after observing several growing challenges in all partners school communities. Many students were unwilling to take part in physical education(PE) classes and often chose passive ways of spending their free time. We also noticed that students had very little awareness of the cultural and natural assets of our regions and there were only a few eco-friendly activities available to them. In addition, the level of student engagement in school life was low and tolerance for cultural differences needed to be strengthened. The students also struggled with English and made limited use of IT tools, often lacking the knowledge of how to design and apply digital resources in their daily learning. At the same time, local eco-friendly businesses received little support or promotion, despite their valuable practices and commitment to sustainability. Teachers also needed more encouragement to introduce innovative methods into their teaching. Our needs were: greater physical activity among students, stronger environmental awareness, improved digital and language skills, deeper engagement in school life, more openness to cultural diversity and stronger cooperation with local eco-friendly businesses.
