We wanted - to promote social inclusion through reaching people with fewer opportunities; including migrants/refugees, the ones with disabilities, as well as the ones facing socio-economic difficulties or any other potential source of discrimination based on sex, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation. -to develop digital skills and competences of all the communities of the participating schools in means of purposeful use of Web Tools in education and to promote the exchange of good practices through making use of digital tools in teaching/learning among different countries -to raise awareness on understanding the European Union context; the common EU values, to be an European, the principles of unity and diversity, as well as the unique cultural identity, cultural awareness and socio-historical heritage and we wanted to increases the European and international dimension of inclusive education -to build and enhance cross border cooperation and networking capacity of the participating schools with the purpose that the students should gain a greater understanding of differences but also discover that, even though we come from different cultures, we also have many similarities between us.
Our main reason was the importance of increasing the degree of inclusion in general, but especially with focus on students with fewer opportunities, including migrants/refugees. All partners had many disadvantaged students/students with fewer opportunities. We had common issues on tackling with diversity in educational environments and fighting against cultural prejudices among our native and newly arrived students. Through different strategies in the meantime we had tried to involve students with fewer opportunities, but unfortunately we had seen that many students still were excluded. How could we include these students in a way that is meaningful for them? How could we include them in a sustainable way? With this project we aimed to support disadvantaged students by directly involving them in the planned activities; indoors and outdoors (see below). By organizing international LTT meetings (and other common activities between mobilities) we wanted to eliminate racism and discrimination. We also wanted to promote common EU-values which provide a basis for an inclusive society. Moreover we wanted all students to improve their language skills which helps them breaking barriers and gives them a broaden competence for the future.
