Objectives

The main objective was to explore and respond to different forms of vulnerability experienced by youth, with a specific focus on mental health. The Swedish mobility emphasized the relationship between social media and young people's mental wellbeing, while the Norwegian exchange addressed the intersection between racism and mental health. Both were rooted in the realities and questions raised by young people in their own communities. By combining professional input (workshops, lectures and panels with healthcare actors) with youth-led activities (debates, poetry, creative exercises), the project empowered participants to process complex issues in a safe, peer-driven environment. We deliberately avoided defining participants by their vulnerabilities, and instead focused on equipping them with tools to co-create, ask questions, reflect, and explore their role in change. The main objective of the project was to increase the social and cultural competence of young people using music as a common denominator. We aimed to create a cross-border community where participants, regardless of socioeconomic or national background, could collaborate on a shared cultural project. By empowering the youth to plan and execute a music festival/concert series themselves, we wanted to promote their agency and leadership skills. Furthermore, we aimed to demonstrate that music and art have a unique ability to bridge cultural gaps, while simultaneously strengthening the international dimension of our local youth work.
