The main objective of the Youngpreneurs project was to empower young women (20-29) by equipping them with essential skills, knowledge, and tools to pursue self-employment, launch or manage businesses, and engage in social entrepreneurship. The project specifically targeted marginalized groups, such as NEETs, women in rural or remote areas, those with migrant backgrounds, or facing socio-economic hardship and discrimination. Youngpreneurs sought to foster an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem by dismantling barriers, improving access to training in work-life balance, financial management, business planning, and digital skills. Key objectives included expanding access to soft loans, mentorship, and networking opportunities, increasing the visibility of female role models, and combating stereotypes hindering women’s participation in entrepreneurship and tech. The initiative aimed to reshape the entrepreneurial landscape to meet women’s needs, promote diversity, and establish supportive peer networks for ongoing collaboration and empowerment.
The Youngpreneurs project was conceived through collaborative discussions among partner organizations seeking to address persistent barriers faced by young women in entrepreneurship. Despite increasing interest in self-employment, young women, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, continue to encounter discrimination, limited access to resources, and underrepresentation in the labor market. Studies across the EU highlight that women are more likely to start businesses alone, yet remain excluded from mainstream economic opportunities. To bridge this gap, Youngpreneurs aimed to empower women aged 20–29 by equipping them with practical entrepreneurial skills in personal branding, digital marketing, intercultural management, and leadership. The project prioritized inclusivity, targeting NEETs, those from rural or remote areas, migrants, and individuals facing socio-economic hardship or discrimination. By fostering supportive learning environments, mentorship, and networking, the project promoted equal access to career pathways and entrepreneurship. Ultimately, Youngpreneurs sought to dismantle structural inequalities, promote diversity, and enable young women to actively participate and thrive in the European economy.
