Objectives

The Faculty of Environmental Protection (hereinafter FEP) has set out in its vision the ambition to become the leading Slovenian higher education institution in the field of education and the transfer of applied knowledge in environmental sciences – internationally recognized, open, and aligned with the goals of quality assurance and internationalization. Our graduates, whose knowledge is built on practical experience, are well trained, highly sought after, and employable on the global labor market in organizations and companies that develop environmental solutions and products and address environmental and nature protection challenges through innovative technologies and services of the future. As environmental protection is a global challenge that can only be effectively addressed through cross-border cooperation, FEP positions its activities internationally. International collaboration in education and training is most effectively and sustainably achieved through the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme and by promoting mobility opportunities. Therefore, FEP’s mission includes encouraging the mobility of students, academic staff, and administrative staff, while strengthening international networking with the aim of enriching knowledge, developing joint programmes and projects, and increasing the employability of our graduates both at home and abroad. These are also the objectives consistently pursued through the implementation of Erasmus+ projects, within both Key Action 1 (KA1) and Key Action 2 (KA2). The international dimension of education and research is clearly embedded in the faculty’s strategy, with Erasmus+ serving as a key instrument for the realisation of its strategic goals. Student and staff mobility is regulated by the internal Mobility Regulation, which guarantees equal access to opportunities. FEP strives to ensure that mobility is available to all who wish to experience it and to enrich their professional expertise through international exposure. Mobility opportunities are thus open to all potential participants in line with the principles of equal treatment, non-discrimination, and transparency, including those from vulnerable groups. All applicants are treated equally, regardless of gender, race, religion or belief, political or other opinion, or national origin. Through the Erasmus+ mobility programme, we aim to provide students and staff with additional opportunities for international learning, knowledge exchange, and capacity building, while also enabling them to share and apply knowledge acquired at home with partner institutions that share our vision and values in education and research. At the same time, mobility offers participants the chance for personal growth and the development of social competences, which are essential both for entering the labor market and for a successful academic career. Professional knowledge alone, without the opportunity to share, exchange, and apply it in a broader international context, cannot reach its full potential. Mobility provides a powerful means of enhancing, connecting, and transferring this knowledge into practice.
