Objectives

The Erasmus+ project represented an important opportunity for our institution to continue the process of internationalisation and to foster the inclusion of students and staff in an international environment. Although this was a smaller-scale project, its value for both participants and the institution was exceptionally high. A particular feature of our higher education institution is that many of our students are already employed during their studies, which reduces the overall interest in longer mobilities. Nevertheless, those who decide to participate gain invaluable experiences that shape them both personally and professionally. The same applies to staff, who through teaching or training abroad acquire new knowledge, develop their competences, and bring back examples of good practices to the institution. The project aimed to achieve several interrelated objectives. The first was to provide students with the opportunity to gain direct experience in the workplace abroad, face challenges in different cultural and professional contexts, and develop the skills they will need in the global labour market. Such experiences strengthen their independence, adaptability, intercultural competences, and professional confidence. The second objective was to provide staff with the possibility to participate in international settings, either through teaching or through training. Both types of mobility offer numerous benefits: professional development, the acquisition of new pedagogical approaches, networking, and the establishment of long-term partnerships with foreign higher education institutions. The effects of these mobilities are also more broadly reflected, as the knowledge and experiences acquired abroad are reintegrated into study programmes and institutional development. The third objective of the project was to strengthen the internationalisation of the institution as a whole. Through the mobilities carried out, we expanded our existing networks, deepened cooperation with partner institutions, and consolidated our visibility in the international arena. This created a solid foundation for further opportunities for cooperation, not only within the Erasmus+ programme but also within other forms of international partnerships and projects. The project brought significant impacts for both individual participants and the institution. The student who completed a traineeship abroad gained valuable experience that will be beneficial for his further career development. Staff members who participated in teaching and training abroad engaged in direct exchanges of knowledge and pedagogical methods while strengthening their professional ties. All participants submitted their reports on time and expressed satisfaction with their experiences, which confirms that the project was carried out with quality and in line with the principles of Erasmus+. In addition to the direct benefits for participants, the project contributed to the broader development of the institution. It reinforced awareness of the importance of internationalisation, promoted mobility among students and staff, and laid the groundwork for future projects. The mobilities carried out demonstrated that even smaller projects can achieve very significant results if activities are implemented in a high-quality and thoughtful manner. Overall, we assess the project as successful, as it achieved the planned objectives, improved participants’ competences, and enhanced the international visibility of our institution. Although not all planned mobilities were realised, the project was implemented effectively, and funds were used economically and purposefully. The experiences gained through this project will serve as a valuable basis for further promotion of mobility and for strengthening the international engagement of our institution in the future.
