The University of Novo mesto (University) is an internationally active institution, cooperating with universities, research institutions, and other stakeholders across Europe. Its faculties, researchers, students, and staff are engaged in numerous partnerships, fostering the exchange of knowledge, good practices, and innovative approaches. In line with the Internationalization Strategy of the University of Novo mesto (2024), the main vision is to become a recognized and respected University with strong partnerships at the regional, national, and international levels, and to act as a socially responsible educational and research institution that transfers knowledge into its environment. Through the Erasmus+ KA131 project, the University pursued the following objectives: • Enhance Education and Research Quality: Improve teaching and research by acquiring new skills and knowledge through international experience, including exposure to diverse study programmes and best practices. • Strengthen International Cooperation: Broaden the network of international partners and promote joint research and educational projects, encouraging long-term institutional cooperation. • Develop Intercultural Competence: Equip students and staff with intercultural skills and global perspectives needed to succeed in a diverse, interconnected world. • Support Professional Development: Provide opportunities for staff to advance their competences through teaching, training, seminars, workshops, conferences, and placements abroad. • Increase Institutional Visibility and Recognition: Strengthen the University’s profile and reputation internationally and locally, promoting its role as a dynamic educational and research institution. • Encourage Mobility: Offer students and staff opportunities for study, teaching, and training abroad, positioning mobility as a key tool for achieving internationalization and modernization goals. • Promote Green, Digital, and Inclusive Mobility: Support sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in mobility, expand digital tools and exchanges (Erasmus Without Paper, OLA, BM), and ensure that mobility opportunities are accessible to all, including participants with fewer opportunities. By implementing these objectives, the University of Novo mesto aimed to contribute to the modernization of higher education, strengthen its strategic partnerships, and enrich its academic community with international knowledge, innovation, and values.
