Objectives

The Erasmus+ programme with the key measure of individual mobility is an important part of the internationalization of the College of Professional Studies, which is one of the elements of the mission of the school and the Erasmus+ Charter for Tertiary Education. It is also an important part of the Long-Term Development Program of the institution 2023 - 2027. Not only did we want to achieve an increased quality of implementation of educational programmes comparable to the best schools in Europe and beyond, but we actually want to offer students and employees the best opportunities to learn about international cooperation and operation. Mobility allows individuals to improve their learning competencies, increase employability and job opportunities, increase self-initiative and entrepreneurship, increase self-confidence and self-esteem, improve their knowledge of foreign languages and digital competencies, participate more actively in society, strengthen positive interaction with people from different backgrounds, better knowledge of EU projects and EU values, increase motivation for further education (formal and informal) and training after completing mobility. The emphasis at the higher vocational school is on practical education, so we wanted to achieve the highest possible quality of its implementation, and abroad offers plenty of opportunities to achieve these goals. Practical education or training abroad means combining education and work in an international environment - the student learns in practice, and later uses the acquired knowledge at home or anywhere in the world. Through mobility, students, as well as staff, gain practical experience in a real working environment, develop professional and language competences, learn about different cultures and ways of working, and grow personally and become more independent and adaptable. Staff, in turn, strengthen their professional network and develop new pedagogical or research approaches. It has been our long-standing desire to carry out mobility for studies, and in this project we succeeded, as we carried out long-term mobility for studies for the first time. We have previously carried out short-term combined mobility for studies, but in this project one student spent one semester of study in Malta. We also wanted to achieve more mobility of individuals with fewer opportunities, and we succeeded in doing so, as half of the students were from backgrounds with fewer opportunities. In this project, we wanted to strengthen European identity, active citizenship and participation in democratic life, which we partially succeeded in (63%).
