Objectives

Through the implementation of this project, we sought to further connect everyday study and work at the Biotechnical Centre Naklo with the European environment and ensure that our programmes are continuously enriched with international experience. We understand student mobility as an extension of practical training: abroad, students learn in authentic work settings with employers in the economy and institutions, upgrading their professional skills while naturally developing intercultural and language competences. For us, it is essential that knowledge is shaped in real working situations, as this directly strengthens students’ readiness for the labour market. With student mobility, we aimed to improve career opportunities, foster self-initiative and entrepreneurial skills, enhance independence and self-confidence, improve foreign language proficiency, strengthen intercultural awareness and active participation in society, raise awareness of EU values, and increase motivation for further participation in both formal and non-formal education and training. For staff, exchanges provide an opportunity to modernise didactics and educational approaches, upgrade professional expertise, and gain insights into business processes of companies as well as pedagogical processes of educational institutions. Observation and the acquisition of knowledge about different approaches, organisational solutions, methods, and tools represent invaluable learning for participants and are systematically transferred into courses, practical training, and internal quality assurance upon their return. With staff mobility, we sought to enhance competences linked to staff professional profiles, broaden understanding of practices, policies, and education systems, strengthen the institution’s capacity to introduce change, better connect education with the labour market, and deepen the understanding of social, linguistic, and cultural diversity. We also aimed to create more opportunities for professional and personal development, while increasing motivation and job satisfaction. With newly acquired knowledge and examples of professional practice, we are able to introduce new content into study programmes and share knowledge among staff. Integrating new insights into the pedagogical process brings a new dimension to quality assurance, making education more relevant and engaging for participants. At the same time, we see the project as a key tool for the internationalisation of our institution. We strive to maintain long-term partnerships in our core fields (agriculture, food science and nutrition, horticulture, and nature conservation), in order to co-create learning content, accelerate the transfer of good practices, and align learning outcomes more precisely with the needs of the European labour market. Our goal is for international exchanges to become an integral part of our operations: each year we expand the circle of participants – both outgoing and incoming – and use mobility as a springboard for joint projects and research cooperation. In doing so, we follow the principles of the ECHE Charter and Erasmus+ priorities: inclusion (also for participants with fewer opportunities), green and digital approaches, care for the well-being and safety of participants, and transparent recognition of learning outcomes. Achievements are recognised through Europass/ECTS and systematically integrated into courses, training, and quality processes, ensuring that the benefits extend beyond the individual to raise the overall standard of study and the employability of our graduates.
