Objectives

The Youth exchange “Green Ambassadors: A Journey towards a Sustainable Future” was successfully implemented with 42 participants from 6 partner countries, in Brezhice, Slovenia. By implementing this project, we wanted intensively to raise awareness among young people on a few topics: the importance of the current environmental situation and the urgency of undertaking steps for saving the environment; the damage that pollution is causing and how we are responsible for that. We managed to achieve this by various non-formal workshops and activities which young people participated. Also, one of the goals of this project that we set was to discuss the possible steps that we as young people can undertake in our daily life (like recycling and reducing the use of resources) and participants came up with simple ideas of what we can change and improve on a daily base. This project also was a great chance for many young people from different countries to gather in one place and work together, to team up and use their creativity while creating video and short movie and infographics, as well as booklet and website. Participants also increased their understanding of non-formal education, the Erasmus+ Programme, and YouthPass and developed life learning competencies. The project did really well at: Helping young people learn more about environmental problems and climate change. Making it easier for them to start thinking and using eco-friendly habits. Inspiring people to think of new ways to solve environmental problems. Making people feel more confident and like better leaders. Helping people learn about and appreciate different cultures. Building a group of young people who care a lot about keeping the environment safe. Teaching people better skills in making digital content and solving problems. Doing better than expected by using online tools to share their work with more people and getting more people interested in being eco-friendly. Exploring different Erasmus+ opportunities. The project objectives achieved with this youth exchange are the following: Inspired young individuals to become eco-youth advocates for environmental protection. Gained and exchanged practical and theoretical knowledge on ecology, climate change principles, environmental protection, and the 3R concept. Participated in hands-on activities and workshops that included the principles of the 3R concept. Provided a platform for participants to share and exchange best practices and ideas from their countries. Produced digital content for future education, including a short movie video, booklet, website, and infographics. Offered participants the chance to work in multicultural groups, developing communication and leadership skills, and creating intercultural understanding. Strengthened participants' understanding of the Erasmus+ program and its opportunities. Provided young people with the skills and knowledge needed to be effective change-makers in their communities and beyond. Promoted international cooperation and collaboration among young people from different countries on environmental issues. Created a network of young eco-activists who can work together to create positive change for the environment.
