In the project group of young people who conceived, wrote and implemented the given exchange, we got to know each other at another Erasmus project, aimed at getting to know and networking with new potential partners who share the same ideas, interests and visions. The goal of our exchange was thus to empower young people in their knowledge about mental health, encourage self-reflection about their own psychophysical well-being, and learn about preventive methods and techniques that are based on art and increase our sensitivity about our own mental health, and are simple enough to we can implement them in our everyday life. We started from our own experiences and the experiences of our peers, because we perceive that the mental health of young people is a very pressing topic these days, where systemic solutions and access to help often fail. Thus, through the "Art of well-being" project, we wanted to enable young people during the exchange week to work on themselves, while at the same time strengthening their connection with others, weaving new social networks, which were very affected during and still after the pandemic, but they represent one of the most important protective factors of good mental health and satisfaction with life. When designing the program, we wanted to start from the young people themselves - that's why the program was designed by all exchange participants, and this is its greatest added value. Everyone was able to share a piece of themselves, everyone had the opportunity, a safe environment and encouragement to explore and learn about techniques, practices of art and relaxation that can be useful in our very varied and different life circumstances. The fact that everyone was able to co-design the program also contributed to the exceptional commitment to its implementation in Azerbaijan, and at the same time, the young people were able to tailor each activity to suit them best, and with this we ensured the cooperation, involvement of everyone and a greater likelihood , so that even after the exchange, the young people will transfer the learned methods and techniques to their everyday lives. The goal was to gain a deeper understanding of mental health topics through the activities in connection with, or through the prism of art, which, due to its indirectness and unlimited expression in a suitable environment, can enable us to connect with ourselves and others on a deeper level. The activities also encouraged critical and creative thinking, the development of empathy, thanks to the varied participation of 24 young people from four countries (Azerbaijan, Italy, Greece, Slovenia), we were able to train our language, communication, intercultural competences and competences for solving potential problems and conflicts. With a varied program that included a combination of very different non-formal learning methods, outdoor activities and connecting with the local environment (carried out in Azerbaijan), we achieved that the exchange left a great impression on the young participants, and they took away a huge amount of knowledge that they they can further share in their wider community, which was also one of our most important goals.
