In this project, we wanted to connect young people from the countries of the European Union and other countries (Montenegro, Serbia, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany). Through the youth exchange aimed at intercultural cooperation, we wanted to devote the most time to the topic of physical and mental health, we emphasized the importance of health and well-being for young people, the importance of contact with nature and environmental awareness and the topic of social exclusion. The six-day summer camp in pristine nature encouraged young people to learn about good practices from other organizations, get the experience of living with nature, learn about mental health issues, and find solutions to all the aforementioned challenges. They expressed their knowledge, experiences and solutions for the future through circus art in the final performance for the local population (locals and tourists). Due to the importance of the environmental topic for improving the physical and mental health and social inclusion of young people, the goals of the project were as follows: ● Investigate the extent to which creative activities can help improve the well-being of young people. ● Create an open forum for discussing physical and mental health topics in an international group. The conversations were led by young people, as we wanted to empower them through the project so that they could express their opinions, share their experiences and suggestions. ● Enable the experience of coexistence with nature, which encouraged young people to act more sustainably, take care of the environment and well-being ● Using the circus method, explore and emphasize the importance of physical and mental health. ● Develop practical skills to create and facilitate well-being in a creative and safe environment. ● Support and enable young people to socialize and feel better connected with young people from other cultures, whereby we will promote social inclusion, solidarity, European identity in intercultural dialogue. The activities included various methods, including thematic workshops, presentations, lectures, group discussions, leisure activities and circus workshops. The circus method was the connecting link of the exchange, because through it they could connect more easily and also express themselves. Young people also did various activities in their local environment, which presented the results of the exchange itself. They are more aware of the importance of physical and mental health in their lives, which is a very important result and a positive effect on young participants. The experience of living together in pristine nature by the Kolpa river, contact with nature, the experiences of others and striving for a sustainable environment has certainly changed and improved a healthy way of life among young people.
