The project partners and our young members decided to develop this project based on the observation that young people are not aware enough of the negative effect that the fast fashion trend has on our environment. With the advent of the fast way, the textile industry has become one of the biggest polluters of our planet. The EU is also aware of this, and on March 30, 2022, as part of the Green Deal, it presented the strategy Sustainable and circular textiles until 2030. We believe that this project was very useful for all project participants, as young participants, with the help of youth leaders, addressed the issue of fast fashion and discussed the reasons why it happened in the first place and how we ourselves can help to improve the situation. During this project, the young participants also developed and strengthened their key competences and acquired new knowledge, skills and abilities. The young participants were also introduced to the importance of planning and identifying learning effects and recording acquired competences. Our project was most closely related to the 10th European Youth Goal - Sustainable Green Europe. This goal states that the scale of our consumption today is greater than our environment can handle. It is necessary to create a society in which all young people are environmentally active, educated and able to create changes in their everyday lives. Project partners and our young members believe that by implementing this project we have managed to take a step in the right direction to achieve this goal.
