FUTURE TELLING 5: The Fifth Element was international youth exchange program. Partner countries in project were Slovenia, Croatia, Israel, Belgium, Finland, Germany and Italy. The main reason for designing the youth exchange project was the need for the implementation of new knowledge, skills and methods in work with youth in theatre. The primary objective of the project was to empower young people to work in youth theatre. We wanted to present them different methods of working with young people in theatre and film and to encourage them to explore more deeply those that they find the most exciting and they feel most comfortable, and later transfer their knowledge to their peers in the local area. At the same time, the aim was that young people develop a critical attitude towards the topic under discussion. Performative art is a space that not only allows young people to express their point of view, but also provides an audience - the ears that would listen. Thus, we wanted to present the theatre and film as an interactive platform for exploring relationships within a specific topic and within a specific cultural environment. The topic of this year's workshops was "The Fifth Element". In the ancient world, there were 4 main elements: water, air, earth, fire. Nowadays, there is also fifth one - the Internet. We live in a time of double lives. We live in "reality", but also on the Internet - on forums, on Facebook, Tik-Tok, Instagram, there are new environments such as Bereal, Pozazzi, Clubhouse, Somewhere Good ... We have driven freedom of speech to the extreme: everyone can express his or her opinion, but the problem is that no one assumes responsibility. Untouchable, hidden behind our (false) profiles we can spread our beliefs, fake news and also hatred. The Internet allows us (false) privacy and security. We feel safe, relax, become more confident, inviolable. As a result, we are also more vulnerable and susceptible to (extreme) ideas and beliefs. Through various theatre and film workshops, we have explored our image in the virtual world. We were took a lool at relationships between the real and retouched world; we explored what is real in the virtual world: is my internet friend really a sixteen -year -old girl, or is it a fifty -year -old sexual predator who is slowly gaining my confidence? We were facing the problem of fake news and fake lives, presented by modern gurus - influencers. We tried to understand the world of the "fifth element", so full of hatred, chauvinism, intolerance and misogyism, and why we are so susceptible to all these influences in this environment. Theater and film allowed us to play through such situations and record our feelings and reactions. Of course, we have not saved the world, but now we will definitely be more prepared for it, both “the real” and “the virtual” one. The main objective of the project was to enable young people to express their own views and at the same time to learn how to publicly present their opinion in the form of a theatre performance, film or performance. Young people got to know 6 different approaches in theatre and film making. The project was designed in such a way that young people had the opportunity to participate in all stages of project preparation and implementation, from the research of the material to final performance. Thus, we wanted to allow them the experience to gain additional knowledge that they could later use in their professional lives (project preparation, public relations, organising ...). As part of the project, we made a conference “Art in digital world”. The conference was attended also by representatives of other Slovenian youth organization (KD Svoboda osvobaja Slov. Konjice, GGNeNi Grosuplje, KD 5. kader Ankaran, JSKD OI Koper, Gajbla Koper, Teater Pozitiv Ljubljana, Gledališka šola Prve gimnazije Maribor …)
