With this project, we primarily aimed to address the identified needs of youth street workers within the international network Dynamo International, specifically in the European region, of which Zavod Bob is a co-coordinator. We collected these needs on local (each country), regional (Europe), and broader international levels (world). At the meeting in Quebec, we formulated a common strategy to address these gathered needs, based on both local and regional requirements. One of the essential activities for this was training for youth street workers, which is lacking despite the increasing necessity and recognition of youth street work as an important method for engaging with and responding to the needs of young people. To effectively and qualitatively meet the needs of young people, we must also ensure that our professional needs are met. Following the meeting in Quebec, Canada, in 2022, we identified essential international activities for empowering youth street workers as part of our strategy. This led to the need for international training that brought together youth street workers across Europe, facilitating the wider dissemination of good practices and enhancing the knowledge and skills of youth street workers (hereinafter YSW). The needs of YSW from all over Europe are also to respond to the changed (post-pandemic) needs of young people. Our project provided youth street workers with the adoption of participatory research methods (storytelling, soundscape), which serve as a tool for action research together with young people. The purpose of the project was to improve the competences of youth street workers in the field of using participatory research methods for better addressing the needs of the target group. The goals we set for this project were: 1. In the 7-day training, 28 youth street workers will learn 2 participatory research methods, enabling them to: - Address the needs and desires of young people more effectively. - Raise awareness and deepen understanding of the importance of enabling and encouraging the participation of vulnerable youth in the research and implementation of youth street work. - Learn 2 good practices from participating organizations. - Disseminate the acquired competencies within their professional environment. 2. 28 youth street workers will implement the knowledge gained from the training in their professional environment, thereby improving the quality of youth street work in their local settings. 3. The 7-day training will enable and encourage networking among 28 youth street workers from 13 different organizations and 12 countries at all stages and with other stakeholders in youth work in Slovenia (organizations from the Mreža Mlada ulica network). 4. 28 youth street workers will exchange good practices throughout the training period. The newly acquired good (participatory research) practices will be transferred to their environments as part of the project dissemination.
