Objectives

With the project "To Hear & Be Heard," our primary goal was to empower youth workers and experienced volunteers to work with young people in distress, equipping them with tools and methods from existing best practices, and creating a supportive environment with a compassionate approach towards themselves, the people they work with, and the world at large. Through this project, we are spreading the results, knowledge, and experiences we have gained over the past few years in the field of mental health of young people and care for youth workers, especially through the strategic partnership "Do You Hear Me? I Hear You," which we implemented between 2020 and 2022. As part of this strategic partnership, we developed support mechanisms for working with young people in distress, which we explored, used, and practiced during the training, and then disseminated further to others after the training. The goals we set for this project were: To empower 25 youth workers and experienced volunteers to work with young people in distress, introducing them to tools, methods, and existing best practices; To carry out an 8-day training with 25 participants from 5 countries, led by 2 trainers using various methods (from theater, creative methods to debates, presentations, and concrete tools); To issue 27 Youthpass certificates; To share the results of the strategic partnership project "Do You Hear Me? I Hear You." more widely and encourage partner organizations and training participants to do the same; To monitor the progress of 25 participants through questionnaires and an online meeting held 3 months after the training; To ensure project dissemination in the form of at least 2 media publications and to encourage partners to share support mechanisms on their networks (each partner one post; thus, 5 posts) and to use them in their work (which we will check three months after the training in an online meeting, of which participants are informed upon registration); To encourage partners to build a local network of organizations that encounter young people in distress in their work.
