Objectives

The "Youth Empower Integration" project was designed with the aim of responding to the urgent needs for better integration of migrants into the European Union, while also addressing the challenges faced by youth workers in supporting this group. Focusing on the development and enhancement of the mentoring system established in the previous project, and strengthening the intercultural competencies and skills of youth workers, we aimed to improve social inclusion, promote intercultural dialogue, and fight discrimination. The goal of the project was to support the professional and personal development of youth workers so they could contribute more effectively to the integration of young migrants and the promotion of positive social changes in their communities, in line with the values and objectives of the Erasmus+ program. 1. Training of youth workers The project enabled youth workers to acquire key skills and competencies for working with young migrants, such as intercultural communication, understanding of cultural diversity, and mentoring abilities. 2. Building bridges between cultures With a focus on intercultural understanding and dialogue, the project promoted the building of bridges between different cultures and raising awareness about pressing social issues. 3. Development of skills and competencies Youth workers gained experience and knowledge that are crucial for supporting and integrating young migrants in their countries, which would contribute to their professional and personal development. 4. Promoting social inclusion and fighting discrimination The project addressed key challenges faced by refugees and migrants, such as language barriers and discrimination, and sought ways to overcome them. 5. Supporting the objectives of the Erasmus+ program The project was aimed at supporting the objectives of the Erasmus+ program, such as promoting intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, social inclusion, skill and competency development, and encouraging cooperation between organizations in the field of youth work. 6. Implementation of the mentoring system The project was based on the implementation of a mentoring system that allows young volunteers to act as mentors to asylum seekers, asylum applicants, and other foreigners, aiming to facilitate navigation through challenges in a new (host) society. 7. Upgrading the mentoring system Based on experiences from the first project "The Power of Mentorship in Integration", one of the goals of the project was also the upgrade and modernization of the already implemented mentoring system, to better address the needs and challenges of integrating migrants into host environments, with a particular focus on training youth workers for further mentorship in various areas. With these goals, the "Youth Empower Integration" project aimed to improve conditions for the inclusion of young migrants, enhance the professional competencies of youth workers, and develop and upgrade an effective mentoring system, all of which contribute to creating a more open, diverse, and inclusive society.
