Objectives

The main objective of the project was to equip young people with practical DIY skills and promote sustainable consumption, thereby directly addressing the horizontal priority of protecting the environment and combating climate change. We developed educational materials in the form of written lessons, video guides and interactive workshops to enable young people to apply their knowledge in real-life situations. By combining digital learning, DIY activities and entrepreneurial education based on case studies of handmade products, we wanted to encourage young people to think about their own initiatives or entrepreneurial paths. This objective was aligned with additional priorities such as promoting active citizenship, youth initiatives and youth entrepreneurship, as well as strengthening the employability of young people. We monitored their progress through structured evaluations and knowledge tests before and after the activities, which confirmed that the project objectives had been successfully achieved. Background

We applied for the DIY future project with the aim of addressing general social needs and the specific needs of the consortium of partners identified during the project preparation phase. We recognised the need to address key challenges such as developing a circular economy, improving waste awareness, reviving the DIY mindset, promoting green entrepreneurship and strengthening a sense of community and belonging among young people. The project also addressed secondary needs such as youth empowerment, strengthening self-confidence and promoting entrepreneurial spirit. We responded to these needs by raising awareness among young people and organising a wide range of activities, including focus groups, national events, conferences and mobility programmes. Through these activities, young people gained practical skills, knowledge and motivation to actively participate in the green transition. At the same time, the project partners have strengthened their capacities in the field of international cooperation, youth work and planning initiatives that link sustainability with entrepreneurship, enabling the exchange of good practices and long-term cooperation.
