Objectives

The Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica places a long-term strategic emphasis on the internationalization of its educational, artistic, and research activities. This is fully aligned with the institution’s mission and priorities. The main objective of the Erasmus+ project was to support this internationalization process through enhanced international cooperation, mobility, and the development of sustainable relationships with foreign partners. Through this project, we aimed to strengthen our position within the international academic space and actively contribute to the exchange of ideas, artistic methods, and knowledge. Our intention was to broaden the range of opportunities available to students and staff, enabling them to participate in projects with interdisciplinary and international dimensions. In doing so, we sought to improve the quality of education, stimulate the creative environment, and enrich domestic study programmes with an international perspective. A key goal was also to enhance the language, professional, and communication competences of our students and academic staff, thus improving their readiness to operate in an international context. Mobility activities supported the exchange of expertise in artistic research and creative practices with partner institutions across Europe. We also focused on creating favourable conditions for incoming students and educators, ensuring their full integration into the academic environment. Their presence not only enriches our institution, but also fosters openness and intercultural awareness among local students. The Erasmus+ programme further enabled the development of several spin-off projects with a positive impact on teaching and research quality. These initiatives supported international and interdisciplinary cooperation, fostering innovation in artistic practice. Lastly, the project significantly contributed to deepening our cooperation with partner universities in the fields of art education and research. It strengthened not only mobility but also professional ties that support long-term, stable collaboration between academic, research, and cultural institutions.
