Objectives

Through the implementation of the project, we aimed to strengthen international cooperation across all university departments by means of mobility activities within the Erasmus+ programme. Our goal was to enable students and staff to participate in planned mobilities at foreign higher education institutions and international companies, thereby supporting their professional, academic, and personal development. We focused on increasing the number of students involved in the programme from all faculties and levels of study, including graduates, with the ambition that every student would have the opportunity to participate in at least one mobility during their university studies. Special attention was given to supporting students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and students with disabilities, who were provided with additional assistance to ensure full participation. All students who successfully passed the selection process by 31 May 2023 and were nominated by their faculties for study stays and internships in the academic year 2023/2024 were awarded a grant. This step was intended to ensure equal opportunities and accessibility of the programme for all qualified applicants. The allocation of the grant represents significant financial support that enables students to cover the costs associated with their stay abroad. The university leadership remains committed to increasing both the number and quality of mobilities during this program period—for outgoing and incoming students, staff, and faculty. As part of strategic development, emphasis is placed on improving administrative support, digitizing processes, expanding the partner network, and strengthening cooperation with high-quality foreign institutions. At the same time, we strived to improve the quality of mobility support – for both outgoing and incoming students, staff, and teachers. A key objective was also to ensure the recognition of student mobility outcomes in accordance with the awarded Erasmus Charter and the Erasmus Policy Statement for the years 2021–2027, thereby promoting academic continuity and motivating students to participate in the programme. In addition to quantitative growth, the university also focuses on the qualitative aspects of mobility. This includes regular evaluation of participant satisfaction, collecting feedback, organizing information seminars and workshops, as well as supporting mentorship and integration of international students. These measures enhance the program’s effectiveness and its benefits for individuals and the institution as a whole. From the perspective of long-term plan , the goal is to develop previous experience, targeted coordination of planned international activities and create conditions for UNIZA workplaces to use the possibilities of EU programme Erasmus in the period 2021-2027. This include developing the competencies of teachers, to support the preparation of joint study programs and to introduce teaching in foreign languages, to increase the number of incoming students. Further increase the mobility of students and teachers, as well as its quality in all types and forms. Development of international cooperation with higher education institutions, non-university and research institutions and businesses helps to fulfil the strategy of concluding international university agreements and partnerships with educational and scientific research institutions inside and outside the EU and to improve the commercialization of science, research and education results. The Erasmus+ program thus continues to be one of the pillars of the university’s internationalization, contributing to the development of an open, tolerant, and competitive academic environment.
