The primary goal of implementing project no. 2023-1-SK01-KA131-HED-000129987 was to build upon previous successful international mobility activities carried out at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. The project focused on ensuring a high-quality and accessible international mobility experience for all students and staff of the university who expressed interest in participating, in accordance with the principles and standards set by the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). Thanks to effective planning, coordination, and support from the university, a positive trend in international cooperation was maintained and opportunities for academic mobility were expanded. The project significantly contributed to the internationalization of the academic environment at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, thereby strengthening its position within the European Higher Education Area. As a result of these systematic activities and strategic development of international cooperation, the university was accepted into the prestigious European Universities alliance, marking a major milestone in its academic and institutional profile. Benefits for Students Student mobility activities were not only an academic experience at partner universities abroad but also served as a tool for developing a wide range of competencies. Students had the opportunity to enhance their professional, linguistic, intercultural, social, and communication skills. Living in an international environment supported their adaptability, self-awareness, strengthened their personal identity, and fostered a sense of belonging to the broader European academic community. Importantly, students were able to test and improve their language proficiency, giving them a competitive edge in the labor market. Benefits for Staff The involvement of teaching and professional staff in mobility activities enabled the exchange of experiences and best practices in teaching, research, and academic collaboration. Working in multicultural teams and discussing the content and forms of teaching with international partners—whether from academia or practice—contributed to improving the quality of education and aligning study programs with international standards. Staff mobility also supported their professional growth, expanded their professional networks, and enhanced their ability to actively participate in international research projects. The project confirmed that an active approach to lifelong learning, professional development, and international cooperation is essential for improving the quality of education and research. Participation in mobility activities within the Erasmus+ program represents a significant impetus for the personal and professional development of individuals, as well as for the strategic development of the university as a modern, open, and internationally oriented educational institution.
