With the project entitled: Active Youth in the Community, we have achieved an increase in the engagement of young people in local communities. At the same time, we have achieved the development of young people's competencies through nonformal education. The participants of the educational activities verified the acquired competencies while implementing small projects, which they wrote and accounted for in cooperation with the leadership of the municipalities and important adults. Young people from 3 microregions of the Žilina Region participated in the education and verification of the projects. The focus of the educational trainings and workshops was on soft skills, the development of inclusive and environmental attitudes, and project management. The project outputs were presented at the regional conference. The main objective of the project was: To increase the level of participation of young people in the life of the local community through personal development. Specific objectives:, 1/ to implement nonnformal education of young people from rural areas in a personal, inclusive and participatory dimension in three micro-regions of the Žilina region, 2/ to apply the acquired competences by young people in the implementation of a small project in the local community, 3/ to support the cooperation of young people with local governments in the implementation of small projects.
