The Underground Resources and Energy Internship Consortium (YKESK) project was implemented under the coordination of Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ) in collaboration with partner institutions. The project aimed to support students in their career planning both before and after graduation and to prepare them for professional life as well-equipped individuals. Within the scope of the project, participants not only gained professional and academic competencies but also significantly improved their personal skills such as self-confidence, effective communication, and intercultural awareness. With the support of collaborating institutions, one of the project’s primary objectives was to offer students more qualified and diverse internship opportunities, establish partnerships with reliable host organizations, and increase the variety of internship placements. Furthermore, in line with the fundamental principle of mobility embedded in the Erasmus+ programme, Turkish students and staff were encouraged to gain cultural interaction experiences in EU countries and to develop an international perspective. Under the 2023 YKESK Internship Consortium Project, a total of 35 mobilities were carried out across 15 different countries. These mobilities included 1 internship activity, 24 staff training mobilities, and 10 teaching assignments. In this context, the project particularly aimed to ensure active participation of university students in engineering fields and relevant academic staff in the Erasmus+ programme.
