Through the Gastronomy Internship Consortium Project, in collaboration with our partners and the coordinating institution Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ), the aim has been to contribute to the career management plans of students both before and after graduation, and to support them in developing skills necessary for success in their post-graduate lives. In addition to the academic and experiential contributions provided to both students and staff, the consortium has offered opportunities for participants to gain a vision for their personal competencies such as self-confidence and strong communication skills. The Gastronomy Internship Consortium has adopted a transparent and fair approach throughout all processes. One of the primary objectives of the project has been to enhance the variety of internship institutions and ensure more reliable internship placements for students through the strong collaboration among partner institutions. In line with the core philosophy of Erasmus – “mobility” – the consortium has aimed to foster cultural exchange by enabling Turkish students to engage with diverse cultures in EU countries. Within the scope of the 2023 project, the consortium successfully carried out a total of 27 mobilities across 11 different countries, including 6 internship mobilities, 19 staff training mobilities, and 2 teaching assignments. The project has strived to ensure that university students from various regions of Türkiye, as well as administrative and academic staff from these institutions, benefit from Erasmus+ mobility opportunities.
