The main objective of implementing the Erasmus programme at ATU was to provide students and staff with valuable opportunities to gain international experience, enhance their personal and professional skills, and strengthen their academic capacity in a global context. By engaging in student and staff mobilities, the project aimed to promote intercultural understanding, language acquisition, and the development of new competencies that are increasingly required in today’s international job market. For students, the project created an environment where they could study, live, and work abroad, thus improving their communication skills, building self-confidence, and broadening their perspectives. These experiences not only contribute to their employability but also enable them to reflect on their fields of study from an international point of view. For staff, the mobility activities allowed them to exchange knowledge and good practices with partner institutions, participate in joint teaching and training activities, and establish long-lasting professional networks. Such exchanges support their academic growth while also contributing to institutional development. From an institutional perspective, ATU sought to strengthen its position within the European Higher Education Area by deepening its cooperation with international partners. The project was designed to increase the university’s visibility abroad, diversify its academic and research opportunities, and foster a culture of openness and innovation. By participating in collaborative projects and research initiatives, ATU aimed to bring academics and researchers from different countries together, paving the way for future European and international partnerships. At a broader level, the project also aimed to contribute to the European Union’s vision of building inclusive, tolerant, and interconnected societies. By encouraging students and staff to become active participants in an international community, the programme supported the development of shared values, respect for cultural diversity, and a stronger sense of European identity. Ultimately, the project was not only designed to achieve short-term mobility outcomes but also to generate long-term impact. The knowledge, experiences, and skills gained by students and staff are expected to inspire future generations, strengthen the institution’s international strategy, and ensure that ATU continues to play an active role in fostering academic excellence and intercultural dialogue across Europe and beyond.
