The Turkish-German University has been an active participant in the Erasmus+ Programme since 2015, following the award of the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education. Building on this long-standing engagement, the main aim of the 2023 project was to further strengthen the university’s internationalisation strategy by creating more opportunities for students and staff to take part in academic and professional exchanges. In this sense, each new project has been seen as an opportunity to broaden the scope of cooperation, provide students and staff with meaningful experiences abroad, and contribute to the university’s overall internationalisation strategy. The 2023 project was therefore designed as a continuation of these efforts, with the aim of further increasing the visibility of the university in the European Higher Education Area and enhancing the quality and diversity of mobility opportunities offered to the academic community. Through this project, the university intended to expand the number of student mobilities for both studies and traineeships, and to support the professional development of staff by encouraging participation in teaching and training activities abroad. At the same time, the project sought to foster intercultural awareness, strengthen participants’ language skills, and promote inclusiveness by ensuring equal access to mobility opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds. In line with the horizontal priorities of Erasmus+, particular attention was given to digitalisation of mobility management processes and to encouraging sustainable travel practices, thereby linking the internationalisation agenda with broader European policy goals. By implementing the project, the Turkish-German University ultimately aimed to achieve a dual objective: to generate tangible benefits for individual participants and to consolidate the institution’s strategic role within the European Higher Education Area. For students and staff, the project was designed to provide academic enrichment, professional development, and intercultural competence through meaningful experiences abroad. At the institutional level, it sought to reinforce the university’s capacity for academic cooperation, strengthen its network of international partnerships, and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and best practices. In this way, the project not only supported personal growth and employability, but also advanced the university’s broader mission of internationalisation, innovation, and integration into the European higher education landscape.
