Objectives

Ankara Music and Fine Arts University [MFU], being the first thematic state university of Turkey in its field, completed the official process of establishment in July 2017 and since then has welcomed both Turkish and international students who aspire to specialize in music, art, science, technology, and education in a dynamic environment with wide horizons. MFU is committed to using all its resources effectively in collaboration with international partners, fostering a peaceful and multicultural campus atmosphere. As a young and thematic university, internationalization lies at the heart of MFU’s vision. Music and art, by their very nature, transcend borders; therefore, openness to the world and intercultural orientation are considered essential prerequisites for excellence in these fields. In line with this understanding, MFU’s internationalization goals include—but are not limited to—increasing student and staff mobility, expanding international research activities, internationalizing the curriculum through more English-medium programs and courses, cultivating a diverse campus culture, and playing an active role in international university networks and associations. With every step forward, MFU continues to strengthen its global networks and strives to position itself as a recognized center of music and arts. By blending local strengths with global partnerships, the university is determined to become a hub of creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange, where ideas and talents from around the world converge. In previous years, the number of our participating students was relatively limited. With this project, however, we are proud to have achieved a remarkable increase in student involvement, which we view not only as a numerical success but also as a meaningful reflection of our growing international presence. This momentum strengthens our determination to offer students wider opportunities for academic achievement, cultural enrichment, and global collaboration. Moreover, the expansion of our international network is not merely a short-term accomplishment—it represents a strategic milestone on our path toward building sustainable partnerships, transforming MFU into a global meeting point for music and arts, and securing our place among the leading international institutions of the future.
