By implementing this project, our primary aim was to provide our students and staff with opportunities to broaden their horizons by experiencing different curricula, diverse teaching and learning environments, and new cultural contexts. We wanted them to develop greater cultural awareness, improve their linguistic competencies, and strengthen their adaptability and self-sufficiency. At the same time, we sought to enhance the institutional profile of Kocaeli University (KOU) by fostering international partnerships and cooperation. Through these collaborations, we aimed to engage in knowledge exchange that would contribute to the modernisation of our institution and position KOU as a more competitive, innovative, and reform-oriented university within the European Higher Education Area. Furthermore, we intended for our graduates and staff who participated in the programme to gain qualities that would make them more qualified, competitive, and employable in the European labour market. In doing so, we aspired for them to become active contributors to the prosperity of European society, equipped with strong cultural awareness and international experience.
