Objectives

The European Union sets targets for social policy and employment to help European citizens live and work in better conditions. The goals of increasing youth employment, supporting student mobility across the European Union, increasing quality and efficiency in higher education and training, which are included in the EU's top policy text called Europe 2020 Strategy, are the main starting points of the activities targeted within the scope of our proposed consortium project. Our country, as a candidate country, puts forward action plans to harmonize with these policies through the 19th Negotiation Chapter. In addition, our country's 2021-2023 National Youth Employment Strategy (NYS) Document has set as 2023 targets the transition of young people from education to the workforce, their participation in internships and related courses, and the employment of young people, and the reduction of youth unemployment to 17.8%. In addition, the “Digital Agenda”, which includes policies for the development of digital skills in the 2020 European strategy, has been set as the 2030 “Digital Compass” targets, which determine the Digitalization strategies that have an important place in the EU agenda until 2030. Among the 2030 goals of the Digital Compass: 80% of Europeans to master basic digital skills, 3 out of 4 businesses to digitalize and 20 million ICT professionals to be employed. Students of Faculties of Technology should take part in this employment and develop their digital skills at European standards. In addition to these, the “Digital Agenda”, which includes policies for the development of digital skills in the 2020 European strategy, has been set as the 2030 “Digital Compass” targets, which determine the Digitalization strategies that have an important place in the EU agenda until 2030. Among the 2030 goals of the Digital Compass: 80% of Europeans to master basic digital skills, 3 out of 4 businesses to digitalize and 20 million ICT professionals to be employed. It is important that students of Faculties of Technology take part in this employment and develop their digital skills at European standards. Thanks to the consortium, students will be able to identify the differences between our country and Europe in the field of technology, both through their activities in our partner institutions in Turkey and their internship experiences in Europe. It is thought that university students who benefit from these opportunities will gain sectoral awareness and contribute to their field of work as competent engineers in the institutions where they work throughout their careers.
