Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to support young people to cope with social awkwardness in the post-COVID-19 period, facilitate the process of returning to real-life relationships and become more involved in community life. Following the social isolation brought about by the pandemic, the process of individuals returning to face-to-face interactions could be challenging and intimidating at times. While social media channels have provided opportunities for young people to make friends, interact with others and gain global awareness, we believed that online interactions cannot fully replace face-to-face interactions. Therefore, with this project, we aimed to enable young people to develop social skills and gain confidence in the real world. The main objectives of the project were: To enable young people to deal with social awkwardness: In the post-COVID-19 period, we aimed for young people to feel more comfortable in social settings and regain such skills. Improving and developing social skills: Through activities such as role-playing games and study groups, we encouraged young people to increase their social interactions and regain lost skills. Promoting social cohesion: We aimed to steer young people away from anti-social behaviors or limited social competencies and towards more inclusive social cohesion. Tackling social anxiety: We supported them to cope with the anxiety and discomfort of social interactions. Increasing self-esteem and self-confidence: We aimed to increase participants' self-confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to build healthier social relationships. Providing opportunities for young people to come together and engage in outdoor activities: We aimed to provide participants with environments where they can develop their self-awareness. Disseminate the opportunities of Erasmus+ and ESC programs: We aimed to increase awareness of the opportunities offered by these programs among participants and other stakeholders. Creating a common space for partnerships and new project ideas: We provided a platform for young people to build new collaborations and develop project ideas. Furthermore, through this intervention, we aimed to improve the soft skills of our participants and highlight the importance of these skills for their future employability. Intercultural awareness was also an important part of the project, as the participants had the opportunity to gain tolerance and understanding by being together with people from different cultures. We also provided them with the opportunity to improve their foreign language skills
