With our project, we aimed to create awareness in society about the negative discourse, disadvantage and hostility that has become widespread worldwide recently and especially targets refugees and immigrants. In this context, we aimed to draw attention to the indirect and direct hate speech against these groups in the virtual and real world and to offer solutions at national and international levels to eliminate all kinds of this hate speech. At this point, contributing to the purpose of creating public opinion in order to prevent the disagreements that the increasing hate speech in our country, Europe and around the world may cause in the future was one of our priorities. In order to do this, another plan we presented was to offer solutions that will reduce hate speech starting from the local scale for this global problem. As we had foreseen at the beginning, this would be realized and a broad awareness would be created within the scope of our project through various actors, especially young people, partner organizations and the people of Kocaeli. However, one of the specific foundations of our project was hate speech, especially against immigrants and refugees. All the activities we included in our project were basically shaped around the subject of preventing such discourses targeting refugees and immigrants. In order to achieve the goals we mentioned above, we aimed to have a total of 45 young people from 8 countries participate in our project. We planned to ensure that 8 of these 45 people participate in the project as leaders. We wanted to bring these young people together and carry out various activities that would contribute to achieving these goals. Indeed, as we aimed with our project, we carried out activities such as idea presentations, workshops, seminars, trips, language workshops, cultural nights, and information about Erasmus opportunities with young people from different European countries. With these activities, we wanted our participants to leave their countries with awareness about hate speech, which is the subject of our project. In fact, for this purpose, all kinds of hate speech and related problems that immigrants and refugees may encounter were discussed at national and international levels through our activities. The activities raised awareness among both the young people participating in the project and the people of Kocaeli through the dissemination activities we carried out.
